Size 36J Bikinis

Size 36J bikinis are among the most specialized in cup-sized swimwear — the cup volume is extraordinary, and the brands that engineer for it correctly are few. Every style here has earned its place in this collection by meeting a high construction standard: rigid underwire, deeply projected cups, and a band built to anchor everything securely through a full day in and out of the water.

Construction Features That Matter Most in Size 36J Bikinis

At 36J, the construction of a bikini top has to work harder than at almost any other size — the cup volume and weight involved demand engineering that most swimwear brands simply don't invest in. The most critical feature in size 36J bikinis is underwire that's both rigid and anatomically shaped: wide-set, deep-cradle wire that follows the full perimeter of the breast tissue from sternum to underarm, sitting completely flat against the ribcage with no pressure on tissue at any point. Seamed cup construction is essential at this volume — look for three-part or multi-panel cups with diagonal and vertical seaming that creates genuine outward projection rather than compressing the bust into a flattened or rounded shape. Boning along the outer cup panels is a significant structural advantage at 36J, preventing the sides of the cup from collapsing inward under the weight of a very full bust and maintaining shape through extended wear and water exposure. The underband needs to be wide — at least an inch of firm elastic — with reinforced underwire channeling that keeps the wire ends anchored and prevents twisting or migration over time. Strap construction matters considerably in size 36J bikinis: wide straps attached to reinforced panels distribute the load across the shoulder without digging or distorting the cup shape, whereas narrow straps anchored directly to cup fabric will pull and fail under the tension this size creates. Finally, look for a fully structured lining throughout the cup interior — not foam padding, which compresses in water and loses its shape, but a firm support layer that maintains its integrity wet and dry across a full season of wear.

Cup-Sized Bikinis, Curated by Fit Experts

At The Bra Diva, we carry bikinis the same way we carry bras — by actual bra size, not just by small, medium, or large. Every style in this collection is selected for its construction quality, true-to-size fit, and ability to hold up in and out of the water. Our team has been fitting customers since 1987 at our Cherry Hill, NJ boutique, and we bring that same expertise to every size we carry online.
